Laura D'Andrea Tyson

Laura D'Andrea Tyson is a Distinguished Professor of the Graduate School at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, where she chairs the Board of Trustees at UC Berkeley's Blum Center for Developing Economies. She previously served as Dean of the Haas School (1998-2001), Interim Dean (2018), and Dean at London Business School (2002-2006). Her distinguished government service includes serving as the sixteenth Chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers (1993-1995), the first woman to hold that position, and as President Clinton's National Economic Adviser (1995-1996).

Dr. Tyson's research focuses on economics and public policy with expertise in trade and competitiveness, future of work disruption, global economy, U.S. trade policy, high-technology competition, automation, artificial intelligence, and women's economic empowerment. Her work bridges academic scholarship with practical policy application, regularly contributing to Project Syndicate and providing media commentary on critical economic issues.

Her recent publications analyze contemporary economic challenges, particularly examining the impact of Trump administration policies on the US economy and international trade relations.
