Laura Chen, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Pulmonology) at the Yale School of Medicine. She serves as the Program Director, Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship, and Medical Director, Pediatric Aerodigestive Center. Her clinical expertise focuses on asthma, pulmonary complications of sickle cell disease, and aerodigestive disorders, which involve complex interactions between respiratory and digestive systems.
Dr. Chen received her MD from Stony Brook University School of Medicine (2014) and completed her pediatrics residency and pediatric pulmonology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (2017–2020). She is affiliated with multiple Yale New Haven Health locations, including the Pediatric Specialty Centers in New Haven and Trumbull.
Her research interests align with her clinical practice, emphasizing pediatric respiratory health and multidisciplinary approaches to aerodigestive conditions. Dr. Chen is trilingual in Cantonese and English and is actively involved in training future physicians through her fellowship program director role.
