Laura Camila Medina is an interdisciplinary artist born in Bogotá, Colombia, currently affiliated with Yale University's Department of Painting & Printmaking as a Research Fellow. Her work explores themes of landscape, migration, and fantasy, inspired by her birthplace and Orlando, FL.
- BFA in Painting from Pacific Northwest College of Art
- MFA in Painting & Printmaking from Yale University
Her practice combines visual arts with sociocultural narratives, focusing on migrant experiences and surreal landscapes. She has received prestigious fellowships and grants, including the AICAD Post-Graduate Teaching Fellowship and Oregon Arts Commission funding.
Medina's accolades include the H. Lee Hirsche Memorial Prize and residencies at institutions like ACRE and Signal Fire. Her work has been exhibited internationally at galleries and museums such as Yossi Milo and the Portland Art Museum.
