Laura CANTINI is a CNRS Research Fellow at the ENS Institute of Biology (IBENS), École Normale Supérieure in Paris. Her work focuses on the interface between machine learning and genomics, developing methods for analyzing and integrating multi-omic data at both bulk and single-cell resolution.
Her research interests include:
- Omics data integration
- Single-cell multi-omics data analysis
- Machine learning applications in genomics
- Computational biology methods development
Dr. Cantini's work addresses the challenges of analyzing multimodal single-cell data to understand disease mechanisms and improve clinical management of complex diseases. Her research aims to develop methods that can co-analyze multimodal single-cell data (transcriptome, epigenome, spatial positioning) to track molecular trajectories during disease onset and treatment resistance, understand complex biological networks, and analyze cell-cell interactions in disease processes.
Her publications show a consistent focus on method development for multi-omics data integration, with applications in cancer research (particularly colorectal cancer and triple-negative breast cancer) and exploring relationships between different diseases like Alzheimer's and lung cancer. The research demonstrates expertise in matrix factorization, dimensionality reduction, and network inference techniques applied to complex biological datasets.
