Laura Ambrosio is a Professor at the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI), Faculty of Arts, University of Ottawa. Her expertise spans practical and theoretical aspects of second language acquisition, teaching, and evaluation, with a focus on French as a second language (FLS), immersion programs, and international accreditation standards like DELF and DALF. She also contributes to pedagogical tool development and multicultural language education inspired by the Council of Europe’s initiatives.

She is involved in initiatives like the Council of Europe’s CARAP framework and ECML’s “Pathways for learning/autonomous learning” program.
Recent publications analyze linguistic norms in academic writing, curriculum design for FLS, and community-based learning strategies. She integrates experiential education into her teaching, including courses like “DLS 4504: Curriculum et matériel pédagogique en didactique des langues secondes” and “FLS 3773: Le mot juste.”
She collaborates with the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) and contributes to the Faculty of Arts’ Francophonie and Bilingualism Working Group.
