Lateef Habib

Lateef Habib serves as an Assistant Professor (Teaching) and Faculty Field Instructor at the University of Calgary's Faculty of Social Work. With over 25 years of professional experience, his career spans community settings, acute care hospitals, private and public sectors, outpatient clinics, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and Day Hospital environments.

His clinical expertise centers on addictions and mental health treatment for adolescent and adult populations, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, Family Based Treatment (FBT), and Group therapy. He treats conditions such as Anxiety Disorders, Substance Addictions, Eating Disorders, and Mood Disorders through a framework emphasizing compassion, collaboration, and recognition of client resilience.
