Lasse Kristoffer Bak

Lasse Kristoffer Bak is a Professor at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH) with 80% of his employment at Rigshospitalet (Copenhagen University Hospital) since November 2023. He is affiliated with the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, specializing in Translational and Clinical Pharmacology.

His primary research interests include biomarker biology with a focus on bone-related diseases, pharmacokinetics of neurological and psychiatric drugs, and developing pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic models. He combines biomarker biology understanding with therapeutic drug monitoring data to improve patient drug treatment.

Dr. Bak's recent publications (2024-2025) demonstrate expertise across multiple domains including bone physiology, brain metabolism, cancer cell biology, and therapeutic drug monitoring. His work shows strong interdisciplinary collaboration across neuroscience, oncology, and clinical pharmacology.

He is devoted to training students and junior scientists, primarily teaching physiology and pharmacology with a special focus on pharmacokinetics. He supervises bachelor's and master's thesis projects in clinical biochemistry and pharmacology.

Dr. Bak values teamwork and nurtures national and international cross-disciplinary collaborations with both public and private organizations. He works to obtain state-of-the-art research infrastructure and make efficient use of resources to provide a strong scientific and educational environment.
