Larry Brickman

Larry Brickman, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Florida Atlantic University. He serves as Director of the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (Medical Surgical Sciences) and Director of the Clinical Surgical Clerkship for third-year students.

Education:

• B.S. in Zoology (1965, Michigan State University)
• M.D. (1972, University of Brussels School of Medicine)

Research Interests span General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Trauma Care, and Medical Education. His work includes peer-reviewed publications on hernia repair, lung transplantation, and diaphragmatic cysts, alongside recent interdisciplinary studies in psychiatry and endocrinology.

• Fellow of American College of Surgeons
• Charter member of American College of General Surgeons
• Certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)

Advising & Grants: He mentors students through the Surgical Interest Group and has directed surgical education programs at institutions including JFK Medical Center and University of Miami. His career includes 30+ years of private practice in general, vascular, and trauma surgery.
