Lara García Díaz is a Lecturer and Researcher at Eina, University of Art and Design, serving as Coordinator of Eina Research and Head of the Design Culture section. She concurrently holds an Associate Professor position at Elisava, Faculty of Design and Engineering in Barcelona, leading the Social Design course in the Master's in Applied Research in Design. Her guest lectures span IED Barcelona, UOC, Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Royal College London, and Het Nieuwe Instituut.
Academic background:
- PhD in Social Sciences from University of Antwerp (UA) and Antwerp Research Institute for the Arts (ARIA)
- Research Master's in Arts & Culture from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Cum Laude)
Her research analyzes art and design through posthumanist, feminist, and ecological perspectives using research-through-design methodologies. She investigates care ethics and social reproduction in participatory design with systemic, postcolonial, and intersectional frameworks, emphasizing pluriversal approaches and new materialisms.
Recent publications (2020-2024) critically examine social reproduction, commoning, and precarity through feminist/posthumanist lenses. Her work bridges theoretical inquiry (inoperancy, minority stuttering) with practical applications in social, speculative, and transition design, addressing collective action and pluriversal methodologies.

She co-founded the Larre collective which conducts systemic, postcolonial design projects with institutions including La Capella, DHub, Centro Huarte, and Matadero, winning the Carasso Foundation award for knowledge co-creation.
