Lance Lobban

Lance Lobban is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma since 1987, holding the Francis W. Winn Chair since 2000 and serving as Director of the School of Chemical Engineering since 1998. He earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas (1981) and a Ph.D. from the University of Houston (1987). His research focuses on thermochemical and catalytic conversion of biomass into liquid fuels and chemicals.

His research interests emphasize catalytic processes, biomass utilization, and energy production. Recent publications explore catalyst design for fuel conversion and plasma reforming techniques.

Recipient of multiple teaching awards, including the Brandon H. Griffin Award (2006), Regents' Award (1996), and Kerr-McGee Distinguished Lectureship (1998). His work has yielded three patents and >50 publications/chapters.
