Lana Dee Povitz is an Assistant Professor of History at Middlebury College, where she teaches courses on U.S. social movements, gender and sexuality, oral history, and Jewish history. Her research intersects with disciplines like food politics, psychiatry, and transnational feminism, reflecting a commitment to uncovering marginalized voices in historical narratives.
- Research Focus: Povitz explores the intersection of activism and identity, particularly in Jewish and feminist contexts, with a focus on oral history methods.
- Key Publications: She authored Stirrings: How Activist New Yorkers Ignited a Movement for Food Justice (2019) and is currently working on a biography of Shulamith Firestone.
