Lamis Wahid Ibrahim

Lamis Wahid Ibrahim, MD is a Professor of Medicine at East Tennessee State University's James H. Quillen College of Medicine, serving in the Department of Internal Medicine's Division of Infectious, Inflammatory, and Immunologic Disease. She also serves as Director of Senior Medical Student Education. Dr. Ibrahim completed her medical degree at Beirut Arab University (1997-2003), followed by residencies in Internal Medicine at East Tennessee State University (2005-2008) and Beirut Arab University (2003-2005), and an Infectious Diseases fellowship at ETSU (2008-2010). She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.

Her research focuses on infectious diseases with special emphasis on sexually transmitted infections, immunology, and antimicrobial therapy. She contributed chapters on syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes simplex, encephalitis, and zoster-related conditions to Gantzs Manual of Clinical Problems in Infectious Disease (2013).

Professional awards include the 2006 Best Resident Award from ETSUs Department of Internal Medicine. She maintains active memberships in the American College of Physicians and Infectious Diseases Society of America.

Her academic leadership includes directing senior medical student education programs and contributing to Quillen College's clinical and educational missions. She collaborates on initiatives addressing antibiotic stewardship, infection prevention, and global health equity in infectious disease care.
