معرفی
Dr. Lamine Doumbia is a social anthropologist and postdoctoral researcher at the Excellence Cluster 'Africa Multiple' of the University of Bayreuth. He has held fellowships at the Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa (University of Ghana Legon) and the German Historical Institute Paris (DHIP), where he worked within the transnational research group 'The Bureaucratisation of African Societies'.
- Current affiliation: Institute of African Studies, University of Bayreuth
- Key projects: Land Governance and Bureaucratisation in West Africa (Bamako, Ouagadougou, Dakar)
His research explores socio-anthropological dimensions of urban land governance, focusing on processes of mimicry and hybridization in bureaucratic practices. He links these to decolonial discourses and examines how endogenous perceptions of property adapt to changing conditions. His work also intersects with the analysis of bureaucratic technologies and digitalization as tools for crisis management, particularly in West African urban landscapes.
Scientific contributions include analyses of legal dispossessions, civilian resistance, and the role of associations in bureaucratization. His recent publications reflect interdisciplinary engagement with political anthropology, legal studies, and urban planning.
- Selected scientific awards: Friedrich Ebert Foundation Scholarship, Individual Fellowship at Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa, Postdoctoral Fellowship at German Historical Institute Paris
Dr. Doumbia collaborates with Prof. Dr. Andrea Behrends on the research profile 'Lifeworlds in Crises,' aiming to secure third-party funding for his work on urban land governance and bureaucratic practices in West Africa.
