Lakshmi Raman

Dr. Lakshmi Raman serves as the Medical Director of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) program at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and holds a Clinical Professor position at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Her primary focus is on advancing ECMO education, clinical care, and research related to neurological injury prevention in pediatric patients. She oversees annual national and international ECMO education courses endorsed by the ELSO organization. Her research integrates bioinformatics and machine learning to analyze neurological outcomes, supported by grants from the American Heart Association and Hartwell Foundation. Dr. Raman is actively involved in ELSO committees, including steering committees for protocols, guidelines, and grant reviews. She contributes to peer review for journals like Neuroscience Letters and ASAIO Journal, and has been recognized with the Lyda-Hill Award.
