Lahib Jaddo serves as an Instructor at Texas Tech University's Huckabee College of Architecture, teaching foundational courses for beginner students and second-year design studios since 1996.
Her academic credentials include:
- M.F.A. from Texas Tech University
- M.Arch from Texas Tech University
- B. Arch from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
As a visual artist, Jaddo's practice centers on painting and sculpture that articulates the perspective of an Iraqi/Turkman woman navigating dual cultural identities through profound connections to physical landscapes. Her work explores tensions between Middle Eastern heritage and American assimilation, exhibited nationally across Texas and California as well as internationally in Jordan. This cross-cultural narrative deeply informs her pedagogical approach in architectural education.
While actively teaching current students, her role focuses on curriculum development for introductory architecture sequences rather than formal graduate advising. Jaddo utilizes the college's specialized facilities including the Digital Fabrication Lab, Wood Shop, and studio spaces to integrate artistic methods into foundational design instruction.
