LaKesha Tables

Dr. LaKesha Tables serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine at the School of Medicine, Morehouse School of Medicine. Her office is located in NCPC A-336 and she can be contacted at (404) 752-1631 or ltables@msm.edu.

Dr. Tables' educational background includes:

• Undergraduate: BS in Biology from St. Ambrose University
• Medical School: MD from University of Tennessee Health Science Center, with Pediatrics residency
• Graduate: MPH and MSCR from Morehouse School of Medicine, with Public Health/Preventive Medicine residency

Her research focuses on obesity mechanisms and interventions, particularly the relationship between obesity and COVID-19 vaccine antibody response, alongside childhood and pediatric obesity prevention and treatment strategies. This work addresses critical health disparities in underserved populations through clinical and translational approaches.

Dr. Tables' publication on African American mortality patterns in Medicaid expansion states demonstrates her commitment to health equity research, spanning public health policy, epidemiological analysis, and social determinants of health.
