LaDawn Haglund is an Associate Professor of Climate Justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. Her research focuses on human rights, environmental justice, political economy, and transformative social processes. She has conducted fieldwork in Brazil, Costa Rica, El Salvador, India, and South Africa, supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and Fulbright programs.

She critiques neoliberal frameworks and explores pathways for socially just sustainability policies. Recent work compares megacity water systems and examines judicial rulings' impacts on marginalized communities.
