LUIS GALAN CAMPOS

Luis Galan Campos is a Researcher in the Department of Medieval History at the University of Valencia, Spain, affiliated with the CiSEM (Cultures and Societies of the Middle Ages) research group. His work focuses on interdisciplinary medieval studies, particularly socio-political structures in the Iberian Peninsula during the late Middle Ages.

He completed his doctoral education at the University of Valencia in 2024, earning a PhD with the thesis Noblesa i violència a la Corona d'Aragó en la baixa Edat Mitjana el Regne de València (1387-1412).

Dr. Galan Campos specializes in the intersection of nobility, violence, and power dynamics within the Crown of Aragon, with concentrated expertise on the Kingdom of Valencia between 1387–1412. His research integrates social, political, and cultural history frameworks to analyze how violent conflicts shaped medieval Valencian society. This focus extends to broader themes including feudal structures, territorial governance, and the socio-economic impacts of aristocratic power struggles during Europe's late medieval period.

As an active member of the CiSEM research group, he contributes to collaborative projects examining medieval societal evolution through interdisciplinary methodologies that bridge historical archives with anthropological and sociological perspectives.
