LUIS ALBERTO RAMIL NOVO

Luis Alberto Ramil Novo is a Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Department of Statistics, Mathematical Analysis and Optimization within the Faculty of Sciences. He is part of the MODESTYA research group focused on Optimization, decision models, and statistical applications, and associated with the Galician Mathematical Research and Technology Center (CITMAga).

He earned his PhD in 1999 with the thesis Contributions to the theory of goodness-of-fit contrasts for polynomial regression models, supervised by Dr. Wenceslão González Manteiga. His research emphasizes statistical methodologies, particularly in goodness-of-fit testing and regression analysis, with contributions to smoothing spline estimators and variance analysis.

His publications include work on F-tests for regression models and χ²-based goodness-of-fit techniques, co-authored with renowned statisticians like González-Manteiga. He has contributed to journals such as Communications in Statistics and Statistica Sinica.
