Dr. LIN Pengkai is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the School of Accountancy (SOA), Singapore Management University (SMU), joining in 2021. His research focuses on financial disclosures, capital markets, auditing, and municipal bonds. He holds a PhD in Business Administration from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Management in Accounting from Xiamen University.
His research interests include the interplay between accounting information and asset prices, with a focus on transparency, audit quality, and market efficiency. Notable areas of exploration involve the impact of emerging technologies (e.g., machine translation, AI) on financial analysis and investor behavior. His work also examines regulatory policies like marijuana legalization and their effects on public finance and innovation.
Dr. Lin’s publications include contributions to Management Science, addressing topics such as blockchain disclosures and the consequences of terrorist attacks on audit practices. His awards include the FARS Doctoral Consortium Fellowship (2020) and the QP Case Analysis Competition Championship (2016).
