LEONIDA AMARAL TOMAS CORREIA

Leonida Amaral Tomas Correia is an Associate Professor at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), affiliated with the School of Human and Social Sciences and the Department of Economics, Sociology and Management. She serves as Director of the Master's Degree in Economic and Business Sciences and is a researcher at the Center for Transdisciplinary Studies for Development (CETRAD).

Her educational background includes:

• PhD in Economics from UTAD (2002)
• Master's in Economics from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto (1994)
• Bachelor's in Economics from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto (1988)

Her research spans business cycles, business cycle synchronization, macroeconomic stabilization policies, labor market dynamics (covering employment, unemployment, migration, and human capital), regional development, and time series econometrics applications. This work emphasizes empirical economic analysis for policy development and regional growth.

She has contributed to knowledge transfer through multidisciplinary scientific projects and holds leadership roles including Deputy Director of the MCEE Internship Committee.

Her primary research base is the Center for Transdisciplinary Studies for Development (CETRAD), where she conducts collaborative work on socioeconomic development.
