Kyunghoon Ban is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Finance and Accounting at the Saunders College of Business, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). He specializes in applied econometrics with a focus on causal inference methods, including treatment effects and policy evaluation, particularly in agricultural and environmental contexts. His work also incorporates demand system estimation for consumer welfare analysis.
Education: Ph.D. in Economics (2023, Iowa State University), M.A. and B.A. in Agricultural Economics (2018 and 2016, Seoul National University).
Research Interests: Development of robust econometric techniques like the difference-in-differences framework, nonparametric bounds estimation, and addressing misclassification in treatment effects. His applied work spans environmental policy analysis, agricultural productivity, and consumer behavior modeling.
Teaching: Courses include Economics and Decision Modeling, Econometrics I and II, emphasizing foundational and advanced econometric theory for doctoral students. His hands-on approach integrates data-driven problem-solving in social sciences.
