Kyriaki Kylili is an Associate Research Scientist at the Computation-based Science & Technology Research Center (CaSToRC) of The Cyprus Institute. Her work focuses on applying deep learning methodologies for object detection, particularly in analyzing marine debris through video data. She holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Cyprus, where her research explored optical properties of organic-hybrid materials for LED technology applications.
Her research interests bridge environmental science and computational methods, aiming to address challenges in marine pollution through advanced neural network architectures. Recent publications highlight innovations in estimating plastic litter prevalence and tracking marine debris using AI-driven approaches. Her earlier studies also contributed to materials science, examining polymer composites' optical properties.
Kyriaki's contributions span environmental monitoring and computational modeling, with ongoing emphasis on developing smart solutions for ecological issues. She is affiliated with CaSToRC, a leading center for quantum computing, machine learning, and computational physics research.
