Kyra actively contributes to pedagogical innovation through the Zimmerman Teaching Fellows program, which she helped develop. The program trains students as classroom mentors to enhance engagement through small-group discussions, review sessions, and co-teaching opportunities. She emphasizes connecting psychological concepts to real-world experiences in a vibrant learning environment.
Outside academia, Kyra is a devoted Boston sports fan, sharing this enthusiasm with her husband Don, three sons (Drew, Matt, Dylan), Golden Retriever Cassidy, and cat Zooey. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks—from Freudian psychoanalysis to social learning theory—while maintaining a practical focus on student mentorship and educational transformation.
