Dr. Kylie Quinn is a **Senior Lecturer in Laboratory Medicine** and **Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellow** at RMIT University. She leads the **Ageing and Immunotherapies research group**, focusing on optimizing T cell immunity in older individuals through vaccination and cell-based therapies. Her work addresses challenges in CAR T cell therapy and vaccine efficacy for aging populations, with a particular emphasis on understanding mechanisms limiting T cell activation. She has held prior roles as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Monash University and the University of Melbourne, and a Visiting Fellow at the NIH, USA.
**Awards**: Quinn has been recognized for her research and public engagement, including the 2021 ASI Public Engagement Award, 2020 RMIT Rising Media Star Award, 2019 John and Eileen Haddon Award for Geriatric Research, and multiple Best Oral Presentation Prizes. She is also the current **Australia and New Zealand Society of Immunology Women’s Initiative Co-ordinator (2019–2021)**, advocating for equity in science.
**Industry Collaborations**: She collaborates with **Exopharm Ltd (2021–present)**, **Okairos AG**, and **Genvec Ltd (both 2008–2013)**, advancing translational research in immunotherapies and vaccines. Her teaching includes courses like *Clinical Immunology* and *Advanced Immunology and Cell Technology*.
**Research Themes**: Central to her work are **ageing**, **cancer immunology**, and **vaccine immunology**, with a focus on T cell biology. She explores strategies to improve CAR T cell therapy outcomes for older patients and enhance vaccine responses by addressing age-related T cell deficits.
