Kylene Cave is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Andrews University. She earned her B.A. and M.A. in English from Andrews University and completed her Ph.D. in English Literature at Michigan State University in 2022. Dr. Cave enthusiastically joined the faculty at her alma mater to contribute to the department's academically rigorous and spiritually nurturing environment.

Dr. Cave's research focuses on 20th and 21st century transatlantic literature, popular literary genres (especially crime fiction), literary cognitive science, and the digital humanities. She explores the intersection of literature and cognitive theory, particularly how crime fiction contributes to memory studies. Her work often examines the role of memory and cognition in detective fiction and the portrayal of forgetting in literary narratives.
Her recent scholarly output includes a peer-reviewed article in Crime Fiction Studies (2024) and conference presentations on memory in crime fiction and Tristram Shandy. Her research demonstrates a consistent interest in the cognitive aspects of reading and the cultural implications of memory myths in popular genres.
As an educator, Dr. Cave teaches courses such as Approaches to Theoretical Discourse, Mystery Fiction, Afrofuturism, and 20th Century Literature. She is actively involved in the university community, serving on the Faculty Senate and Honors Council, and as faculty advisor for Nu Sigma (English Honors Society). She is also scheduled to present on memory and cognition in detective fiction and AI in education in 2025.
