Kyle K. Zhao is an Associate Professor at Tulane University's Department of Mathematics within the School of Science & Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Georgia Institute of Technology (2009), alongside M.S. degrees from Georgia Tech (2006) and the University of Science and Technology of China (2004), and a B.S. in Mathematics from USTC (2001).

His research focuses on nonlinear PDEs, hyperbolic conservation laws, and mathematical modeling in fluid mechanics and biology. Key areas include compressible flows through porous media, traffic flow dynamics, and biological systems such as chemotaxis, tumor growth, cardiovascular flow, and wound healing. He has held postdoctoral and visiting roles at the Mathematical Biosciences Institute (Ohio State University) and the University of Iowa's Department of Mathematics.
