Kyle T. Bulthuis is an Associate Professor of History at Utah State University specializing in early American history, religion, race, and slavery. He holds a PhD in American History from the University of California, Davis (2007), an MA from Utah State University (2000), and a BA from Calvin College (1995).
His research explores the intersection of religion, race, and society in early America, with current work focusing on the social worlds of the first writers of the British black Atlantic. His notable publication is Four Steeples over the City Streets: Religion and Society in New York's Early Republic Congregations (NYU Press, 2014).
