Kyle Bowyer is a Lecturer and Course Lead for the Business Law Major at Curtin Law School, part of Curtin University's Faculty of Business and Law. He holds multiple roles including membership in the Dean's Advisory Council, Courses Committee, and Assessment Quality Panel. With over 20 years' experience, he combines legal practice (solicitor, legal/HR/IR manager in construction) with academia, teaching contract law, construction law, and business-related legal subjects across campuses in Perth, Dubai, Malaysia, Mauritius, and Singapore.
Education: LLB, BComm, MTEM (Masters in Tertiary Education Management), GDLP (Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice), and PhD candidate in Construction Law. Research focuses on Contract Law, Construction Law, Employment Law, and emerging issues like AI legal frameworks. Awards include the 2022 Dean’s Teaching Award and 2006 Student Guild Excellence in Teaching Award.
Research spans legal-technology intersections (robot rights, electronic personhood) and construction industry payment systems. Teaching innovations include designing cross-faculty units like Business Capstone and Applied Contract Law. Leadership roles include Head of School Development Program and Acting Head of Business Law Department.
