Kyle Ann Huskin is a Researcher affiliated with the Cluster of Excellence ‘Understanding Written Artefacts’ (UWA) at the University of Hamburg. She serves as Principal Investigator (2023–2025) for Project RFA21 focused on ‘Recovery of Writing in Large Collections’ and previously acted as a Technician (2019–2022) on Project RFA10 addressing ‘Recovery of Damaged Writing’. Her work centers on material analysis of historical manuscripts, employing advanced imaging techniques like multispectral scanning and infrared reflectography.
Research interests include ink composition, cultural heritage preservation strategies, and the application of digital methods to recover faded or obscured textual content. Key projects involve collaborations with institutions such as the Natural History Museum Hamburg, the Biblioteca Palatina in Parma, and the Stadtmuseum Harburg.
Publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches to manuscript analysis, including studies on Ottoman endowment documents, Rubens’ sketches, and Tibetan religious texts. Her contributions bridge archaeometry, art conservation, and historical scholarship.
