Dr. Kyla Paolucci is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at St. John’s University’s St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Department of Art and Design. Holding a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts, her professional career includes work with major firms like Amazon, HBO, and Hearst Magazines. Her research focuses on how cultural contexts shape design practices, emphasizing the intersection of craft traditions with modern optimization strategies. She advocates for socially responsive design through pedagogical approaches that blend durational making with accessibility.
