Kwon Young-hye

Kwon Young-hye is a Professor in the Department of Food and Nutrition at Seoul National University's College of Human Ecology. Her research focuses on nutrient-gene interactions, sphingolipid metabolites in disease mechanisms, and developmental programming of metabolic disorders.

Research Interests:

• Molecular mechanisms of nutrient-regulated gene expression
• Role of maternal nutrition in offspring liver development and disease
• Autophagy regulation in gastrointestinal inflammation and neurodegeneration
• Metabolism of folic acid and sulfur-containing amino acids

Current research projects funded by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning include studies on:

• Autophagy-induced carcinogenesis via sphingolipid metabolites
• Maternal diet-liver development-disease continuum
• Isoflavone modulation of autophagy pathways
