Kwok-ming Ho is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Australia (UWA) in the Department of Internal Medicine, affiliated with the UWA Medical School. He also holds an external position at The Chinese University of Hong Kong from July 2024 to June 2029. His research focuses on critical care medicine, neurology, and trauma surgery, with expertise in intensive care unit (ICU) practices, traumatic brain injury, and evidence-based clinical interventions.
Research interests include investigating thromboprophylaxis protocols in ICUs, optimizing arterial cannulation techniques via ultrasound guidance, and understanding the epidemiology of dural venous sinus thrombosis in trauma patients. He explores associations between body mass index, frailty, and critical illness outcomes, as well as long-term cardiac effects of pulmonary embolism therapies.
Ho has contributed to over 214 peer-reviewed publications and supervised three research projects. Notable collaborations include multinational studies on ICU protocols and systematic reviews of critical care interventions. He has secured grants for initiatives like the 'Multifaceted Approach to Improving Outcomes for Severely Injured Patients' and neuroprostanes research in neurological injury.
He is associated with datasets on road trauma prevention and neurotrauma research. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals addressing health and well-being (SDG 3).
