Kurtis Auguste

Dr. Kurtis Auguste is a Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine, where he serves as a pediatric neurosurgeon specializing in disorders of the brain, peripheral nerves and spinal cord in children. He is affiliated with the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences and practices at the Fetal Treatment Center in San Francisco with an additional location in Oakland.

Dr. Auguste earned his medical degree from UCSF School of Medicine in 2001, completed his neurosurgery residency at UCSF, and pursued a fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery since 2013.

His research focuses on epilepsy and neuronal migration disorders, with significant contributions to pediatric neurosurgical innovation. Dr. Auguste has pioneered the use of virtual reality technology for preoperative planning, as evidenced by his "Canopy Approach" methodology.
