Prof. Kurt Frischmuth is a Professor at the University of Rostock, affiliated with the Numerical Mathematics Team. His research focuses on numerical methods for nonlinear problems in continuum physics, mechanical multibody systems simulation, and heat wave modeling. He teaches courses such as Numerics IV (Partial Differential Equations) and supervises internships in modeling and programming.
Key projects include BMBF-funded wheel-rail contact studies, DFG-funded wear analysis, and 3D scan applications in ArguDent. He also leads seminars on analysis and numerical methods for mathematics students.
