Kuang-Chung Lee is a Professor at National Dong-Hwa University (NDHU) in Taiwan, specializing in community participation, natural and cultural landscape conservation, and management of protected/rural areas. He earned a Ph.D. in Geography from University College London (2001) and an undergraduate degree from National Taiwan University (1989).

His research focuses on collaborative planning, cultural landscapes, and the legacy of industrialization in Taiwan, particularly from the Japanese colonial period. He has led over 30 research projects and serves as focal point for the International Partnership of the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI) at NDHU.
He actively contributes to international organizations including IUCN’s World Commission on Protected Areas, ICOMOS, and ProGEO. At the Industrial Heritage Reloaded conference, he presented on coal-mining industrial landscapes in Taiwan through three sessions.
