Krystle Halls is a Lecturer in the Adelaide Nursing School at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. She holds a Master’s in Critical Care Nursing and is currently completing a PhD in Health Sciences. Her career spans over 18 years in clinical nursing, education, and research, with leadership roles in Intensive Care Units (ICU) and academic institutions.
Education Background: Graduated as a Registered Nurse from Flinders University (2006), completed a Master of Critical Care Nursing, and is pursuing a PhD in Health Sciences.
Research Interests: Focuses on improving critical care nursing education, fundamental care practices in ICUs, and interprofessional collaboration. Her work includes systematic reviews on ICU nursing experiences and evaluations of simulation-based training programs.
Grants & Projects: Leads initiatives such as a scoping review of Australian post-graduate critical care nursing education and a study on implementing the Fundamentals of Care Framework in curricula. Collaborates with Adelaide Health Simulation and clinical partners.
Teaching: Coordinates the Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science (Intensive Care Nursing), integrating clinical expertise with research to prepare graduates for ICU roles.
Labs/Teams: Engaged with the Adelaide Nursing School’s clinical and academic teams, contributing to evidence-based nursing practices.
