Krystallia Dimitriadou

Krystallia Dimitriadou is a Researcher at the Department of Wind and Energy Systems, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), specializing in Meteorology and Remote Sensing within the Wind Energy Systems Division. Her work significantly contributes to Sustainable Development Goals related to clean energy and climate action.

Her research expertise spans atmospheric electricity phenomena, particularly focusing on corona discharges, lightning processes, and thunderstorm physics. She combines these interests with wind energy applications through remote sensing technologies and atmospheric modeling. Her work bridges fundamental atmospheric science with practical wind energy resource assessment.

Her recent publications demonstrate strong trends in applying space-based observations (particularly ASIM - Atmosphere-Space Interaction Monitor) to study electrical processes in thunderstorms, while simultaneously advancing offshore wind field characterization using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology.
