Kristo Nurmis is a historian and Research Fellow at Tallinn University's School of Humanities, holding a Ph.D. in Russian and Eastern European History from Stanford University (2022).
His research spans interdisciplinary fields including:

He currently leads a book project analyzing legitimacy politics and mass influence mechanisms during Soviet and Nazi occupations of the Baltic States (1939-1953), integrating transnational and communication history frameworks to examine propaganda, cultural control, and collective memory formation under dual totalitarian regimes.
