Kristine Taylor

Kristine Taylor is a Teaching Associate Professor and Assistant Director of Portuguese Language Instruction at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has taught Portuguese since 1997 and joined UNC in 2009, focusing on elementary, intermediate, and advanced language courses. She emphasizes fostering inclusive learning environments and coordinates PORT 101, 102, 203, and other specialized language courses for professional contexts.

Education:

• MA in Portuguese Language and Culture, University of Copenhagen, Denmark (2001)

Research/Teaching Interests: Foreign language pedagogy, digital tools in education, medieval women’s history, and intersections of culture, history, and labor markets. She is committed to inclusive teaching practices and has completed trainings such as SafeZone, UndocuCarolina, and Mental Health First Aid.
