Dr. Kristin Wall is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health. Her research focuses on improving evidence-based decision-making to enhance STI prevention and reproductive health outcomes, particularly in resource-limited settings. She has conducted extensive work in Zambia and Rwanda, addressing HIV prevention, family planning integration, and cost-effective healthcare strategies. Dr. Wall holds a PhD in Epidemiology from Emory University, an MS in Biostatistics from the University of Texas Health Center, and a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
Key areas of expertise include HIV/STI prevention, implementation science, cost-effectiveness analysis, and epidemiological methods. She leads projects funded by NIH, Gates Foundation, and CDC, including studies on postpartum contraception, couples' HIV testing, and digital health interventions. Her work emphasizes global health equity, particularly for women and couples in sub-Saharan Africa.
Dr. Wall has received notable awards such as the NIH K01 Award (2016-2020) and the Provost’s Distinguished Teaching Award (2023). She collaborates with the Rwanda Zambia HIV Research Group, PRISM Group, and WIHS. Her teaching includes advanced epidemiological methods, mentoring over 50 students globally. Current projects include evaluating post-abortion contraception uptake and optimizing STI screening tools in African populations.
