Kristin Voigt is an Associate Professor at McGill University, holding a joint appointment in the Department of Philosophy and the Department of Equity, Ethics and Policy. She co-directs the Centre de recherche en éthique (CRÉ). Her research bridges political philosophy and public policy, focusing on distributive justice, health inequality, and ethical challenges in health interventions like tobacco control and obesity management.
Voigt earned her DPhil in Political Philosophy from the University of Oxford (2008) and held post-doctoral positions at Harvard, Lancaster University, and the European College of Liberal Arts. Her work examines relational equality, global health measurement, and the ethical dimensions of policies addressing smoking, obesity, and higher education access.
Recent publications highlight her contributions to animal ethics (e.g., *Zoopolis*), pandemic policy (COVID-19 vaccination passports), and critiques of luck egalitarianism. Her articles often blend normative theory with empirical public health concerns, emphasizing equity across diverse contexts.
Voigt’s interdisciplinary approach addresses global health disparities, ethical dilemmas in public health strategies, and the intersection of social justice with emerging technologies like big data in healthcare.
