Kristin Hope McMaster is a Part-Time Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Biomedical Sciences at McMaster University. Her work bridges molecular biology and clinical research, focusing on stem cell regulation and cancer biology.
Her research explores RNA biology, epigenetics, and metabolic vulnerabilities in hematologic malignancies and pediatric cancers like medulloblastoma. Articles from 2025-2022 highlight her leadership in identifying therapeutic targets (e.g., AHR-ELMSAN1 axis, RBM17, KAT7) and post-transcriptional mechanisms in leukemogenesis.
Recent publications demonstrate trends in RNA binding protein dependencies, splicing dysregulation, and metabolic reprogramming within leukemic and cancer stem cells. She actively teaches courses on gene regulation and nucleic acid structure.
