Kristin Baughman

Kristin Baughman, Ph.D., is a Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and holds the title of Graduate Faculty III in the College of Graduate Studies. She specializes in health services research, particularly focusing on advance care planning, interprofessional education, and healthcare provider-patient communication. Dr. Baughman is the site Principal Investigator (PI) for two major grants: the Ohio Cardiovascular Collaborative (Cardi-OH.org) and the Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative (CTSC) of Northern Ohio. She also serves on the editorial board of The Gerontologist.

Her academic background includes a Ph.D. in Sociology from Indiana University at Bloomington. Teaching responsibilities span biostatistics, research methods, and courses such as Foundations of Medicine, Health Systems Science, and Capstone I for MPH students. Recent research highlights include studies on nursing leadership in public advocacy, the impact of advance care planning self-efficacy, and disparities in breast cancer screenings among older women.
