Kristian Romano is a Research Fellow in the Applied Statistics & Risk Unit (AS&RU) at the University of Warwick's Department of Statistics. His work focuses on applying statistical methodology to real-world problems in healthcare, particularly cancer chronotherapy and wearable device integration for patient monitoring. He holds a BSc and MSc from Bocconi University (Italy) with exchange periods at Northwestern University (USA) and Bocconi Institute for Data Science and Analytics (BIDSA).
His research interests include digital health, personalized medicine, and circadian rhythm monitoring in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. He actively contributes to the Royal Statistical Society West Midland Local Group, where he has served as Secretary (2020–2023) and currently chairs. He also supports Warwick PhD students through the Statistical Advisory Clinics.
Key research themes involve telemonitoring systems, advanced statistical modeling (e.g., Hidden Markov Models), and interdisciplinary collaborations across oncology, biostatistics, and wearable technology. His recent presentations emphasize real-time patient monitoring innovations and circadian rhythm analysis in pancreatic cancer treatment.
