Kristian Hassel

Kristian Hassel is a Professor and Head of Herbarium TRH at the NTNU University Museum (Norwegian University of Science and Technology). His research focuses on Arctic bryophyte ecology, biosystematics, and conservation, particularly Sphagnum species. He leads Norway's red list assessments for bryophytes and chairs the Nordic Bryological Society. His work combines field studies in Greenland and Svalbard with genomic approaches to study speciation and climate impacts.
