KristiLyn Wilkinson serves as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Financial Planning at Texas Tech University, where she teaches personal finance. Prior to joining Texas Tech, she spent over a decade teaching at Utah State University. Her professional experience spans multiple sectors: she worked as a securities fraud investigator for the Utah Division of Securities, provided housing and financial counseling as an Accredited Financial Counselor, and currently practices as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) with Harold Dance Investments.
Wilkinson's expertise lies in personal financial planning, financial counseling, securities regulation, and fraud investigation. She integrates her extensive industry experience into her teaching to provide students with practical, real-world insights, emphasizing student success through applied learning methodologies.
She holds a Master of Science degree and maintains several professional certifications including CFP®, AFC®, and CDFA®. Her dedication to bridging academic theory with professional practice enhances curriculum delivery across undergraduate and graduate programs in the School of Financial Planning.
