Kristi Wilson

Kristi Wilson is an Associate Professor of Nursing and Director of Academic Programs at the School of Nursing, University of Michigan-Flint. She holds a PhD in Educational Studies from Eastern Michigan University (2001), an MSN from Michigan State University (2001), a BSN from the University of Michigan-Flint (1989), and a diploma from Hurley School of Nursing (1986). Her work spans clinical nursing, education, and community-based research.

Wilson’s research focuses on Nursing Education, Health Equity, and Community-Based Participatory Research, with recent studies exploring virtual simulations, racism in clinical evaluations, and environmental sustainability in nursing curricula. She also integrates Acupuncture and EcoJustice Analysis into public health frameworks.

Her funded projects include grants from the State of Michigan's Department of Health and Human Services (2025) and the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (2024-2025), with PI roles in initiatives like Nursing Summer Camps and MILEAP scholarships. She has contributed to peer-reviewed journals such as Nursing Education Perspectives, Public Health Nursing, and Journal of Nursing Education.
