Kristi Lõuk is a Lecturer and academic member at the University of Tartu, Estonia. She serves on the University's Research Ethics Committee and the Ethics Committee of the Health Information System. Her primary teaching role involves instructing medical ethics to second-year medical students. Her work intersects bioethics, medical research ethics, and the governance of large-scale biobank initiatives.
Research interests focus on human cloning ethics, non-interventional biomedical research, and the ethical challenges in health data utilization. She has contributed to global bioethics discourse through publications on cloning, biobank consent frameworks, and research ethics standards.
Professionally, she has been an ELSI (Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications) expert for the Estonian Biobank under BBMRI-ERIC, and co-led the 'Values Game for Health Professionals' project. Her work emphasizes balancing scientific advancement with ethical integrity in medicine and research.
