Kristi Bond is the Department Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages & International Studies at Harding University. She holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Kansas (2013), an M.A. in Linguistics from the same institution (2011), and a B.A. in Spanish from Harding University (1994). Her research focuses on second language acquisition, particularly the role of first language (L1) and individual differences in learners' sensitivity to morphosyntactic features, using ERP (electroencephalography) methodologies.
Bond teaches courses such as Advanced Phonetics, Intermediate Spanish, and Methods of Foreign Language Teaching for K-6 and Secondary levels. She has been actively involved in professional organizations including the Christian Association of World Languages, Phi Sigma Iota Foreign Language Honor Society, and the Arkansas Foreign Language Teachers Association. Her work bridges cognitive science and applied linguistics, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to language education.
